Preparation encouraged for new tax relief program | Business

Through House Bill 2136, signed into effect by Governor Laura Kelly back in June, $50 million was set aside to help small businesses in Kansas recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of that legislation, the COVID-19 Retail Storefront Property Tax Relief Program was established, which will be launching in October. With that, Gov. Kelly recently encouraged small businesses to prepare for the application process by verifying they are registered for a federal Unique Entity Identifier (UEI).
